7th September 1645. Fairfax's army were joined by a number of fresh Clubmen, willing to serve under the General in laying siege to Prince Rupert in Bristol. As reported in the Crommelliana. "There came fresh divers of Clubmen unto us with such arms as they had, protesting to live and die with us because they say the cavilers plunder and are barbarous"
